How do I disable automation as default for new tracks?
Every new track has automation turned on by default. I prefer to not turn it on until there is actual automation data entered into the track, so I end up having to click the triangle each time a new track is created. Not a huge waste of time but I'd like it to be more efficient for my workflow.
How do I go about disabling it for new tracks?

You and also click and hold and drag the mouse down in Tracks, or, across in Mixing Board.

I know all these and thank you but they're not for the described situation
Re: How do I disable automation as default for new tracks?
Hi Irimi
I agree with you... this issue did come up here many years ago ... I forgot about it... and then found all new tracks had automation enabled by default.... for years I thought "I need to sort this out" ... but never pursued it
Your question prompted me to go back and sort this out again
I found that by opening Setup>Automation Setup .. and disabling both Enable Automation Playback and Enable Automation recording at the top right side of the window..... and then clicking Save As Default for Audio tracks at the bottom right, i think the default will now stick with no automation enabled
I've just tried it a few times and opened different projects... seems to work
Thanks again for the question....
Hope this helps
