Looks sweet to me Patricio. I myself rather use just a computer keyboard and a mouse but for that price you can't loose. Sandy over at http://www.americanmusical.com/Home.aspx quoted the same price and you can do the ez pay plan at AMS too.

We're the same price, and we have the support and knowledge to back it up ;-) I must say, I was caught off-guard by the big price drop... My theory is this. Mackie makes a wonderful solution for $995 that is 8-channels, allowing for complete expandability as the budget allows. There are some that have bought the main unit and up to (3) expanders out of the gate (ha! Expander? Gate? LOL) to have a 32-ch setup with a visual read-out. Definitely the coolest part of the Mackie Control IS the large LCD dispaly, very useful! However, there are others that would buy the Mackie contorl solely because it was cheaper and didn't care about having more than 8-faders. In this case, the Tascam US2400 would be ruled out because of price. But now at $799 providing 24-faders and plenty of knobs for controlling your Aux's, Pan's, EQ control, etc...it is very affordable AND you can have 24-faders right away!

I almost bought a US2400 to tide me over until my Control24 arrived, but I realized fiscally it wasn't wise for me to spend that much for a temporary solution. But I have used it with ProTools, Digital Performer, Sonar, and Nuendo with WONDERFUL results. Is it the ultimate? No, is it the best feel? No.....but it is VERY practical and works quite well. Ever since the price drop, this has truly become one of our hottest selling products and I have to imagine elsewhere, too. It's certainly worth it, I do recommend it very much and have from the first time I played with it. Honestly, I laughed at it at first...then I used it and I've liked it ever since.
Thank you,
Brad Lyons

Sorry, Sweetwater has the same great price drop on the Tascam US2400 and you can chat with a very real live and extremely knowledgeable person not like I had to when i chatted online with the folks at that other place.

Cheers!

Surround Panner on the Tascam 2400

Post by biv0uac »

I read in the FAQ on the website that the Surround panner for the Tascam 2400 only works for Protools and logic. Has anyone ever tried to use it for the surround features in DP?

Thanks!

Personally, I think the price was about the same the whole time if you deducted the value of the rebates that they had been offering for a long time. So, essentially, they just took away the rebate and adjusted the price to reflect that. I would have rather paid the lower price than get those horrible monitors. But, they have become my "crank it" monitors.
