How do I fix "unconfigured ports" for input on MIDI tracks?
I've just switched over to direct USB input from my Nord Piano, and under a MIDI track's input drop down, it shows Unconfigured ports > Nord Piano. It seems to work fine, but I was wondering how to configure it, or if that's even necessary. I've gone into the Audio/MIDI settings on the Mac and it shows the Nord Piano in the MIDI configuration, but I don't see anything else in there to specifically assign it to a DAW. Thanks for any advise.

In Audio MIDI Setup, if you double click it, does it bring up some configuration options?
M1 MBP; OS 15.3, FF800, DP 11.33, PC3K7, K2661, iPad6, Godin XTSA (w/ SY-1000), 2 Ibanez 5-string basses (1 fretted, 1 fretless), FX galore

This graphic below is from a very old post I made on the board about configuring an M-Audio Axiom controller, but it may be if all you're after is SEEING the Nord Piano as an input, you could try configuring a new MIDI instrument in AMS and naming it as needed and then connecting it "to itself" by connecting the one you created to the one that appears automatically when connected via USB.TopoTony wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 12:20 pm I've just switched over to direct USB input from my Nord Piano, and under a MIDI track's input drop down, it shows Unconfigured ports > Nord Piano. Don't ask my why this works... but it has for years in situations like this.

So, basically create another Nord and connect the two together? I’ll give it a try. Thanks

Basically it. It's weird, but it often works.

You run into that when the MIDI Device is both a Hub and Controller. I used to see that on my Yamaha Motif, and on my S90ES. The weirdest one to set up was my Roland A800/A500:
