Well, what sort of music are you doing? Care to hone it down for us?
You might want to consider one of the soft synth type progs like BFD (for acoustic kits) and Stylus RMX for, well, everything.

I would second BFD... the interface is wonderful, and the ability to adjust the close mics, overheads, room and pzm mics really pulls the sound together in a realistic mixing fashion (talking with my mixing hat on).
Also I use it with an Akai MPD16 pad unit, and the variety of hits on each pad/drum is great. Highly realistic and recommended.
