DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
I installed DP 11.31 demo wanting to upgrade from DP 9.52. When I started working on a project, originally started in DP 9.52, one track randomly and continuously changed inserts in 2 of the slots. The pans also started moving around on all of the tracks. Even with automation turned off.
I’m on an old 2010 iMac quad core i5/32GB ram running OS10.13 which is still compatible according to MOTU.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Re: DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
Update: After closing and reopening the project and clearing inserts, then putting in each insert in manually instead of using the "saved insert settings" it's not changing anymore. However the pans are still moving around. Even when not playing.

Re: DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
Hi, Graywolf! I haven't watched your video, so I'm taking a "shot in the dark": Could DP be receiving random "panning signals" from your attached MIDI controller? Does the behavior persist when "record" is disabled for the MIDI track?

Re: DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
Doug your shot in the dark hit the bullseye! I disconnected my controller and it stopped. I reconnected and checked the MIDI monitor and there is some activity, just don’t know what’s causing it. I opened a project in DP9.52 and there’s no problem. So it’s not the controller, it must be some setting in DP11. Well I have 29 days left to figure it out before I have to pay for the upgrade. (Or not)
If you have any ideas about what might be causing this please let me know.
Thanks for your help.

It sounds like you have a control surface enabled in DP11, or perhaps some attached controllers.Graywolf wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:28 pm Doug your shot in the dark hit the bullseye! Re: DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
I noticed in DP9 "input filter" under controller has "all" checked. In DP11 it has "all except" Audio Volume: Internal and Audio Pan: Internal. (See pic). I remove them, click OK but it comes right back.cuttime wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:39 pmIt sounds like you have a control surface enabled in DP11, or perhaps some attached controllers.Graywolf wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:28 pm Doug your shot in the dark hit the bullseye! Re: DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
I think the boxes checked are what is NOT being filtered out. I'm tired, but maybe your setting was at crossed purposes?
You could just try unticking the Controllers box to see if it stops. The other thing you might find useful is to use a MIDI monitor to see what is coming in and from where.

Unticking the controllers box may have worked. It’s been 30 minutes and nothing has moved. Thought I had tried that before but I was trying so many things may have missed it.stubbsonic wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 10:17 pm I think the boxes checked are what is NOT being filtered out. Re: DP11 randomly changing inserts and pan
If you want to use controllers again, figure out which faders or pot on your controller keyboard is set to transmit CC10 and exercise it (wiggle it around) maybe with a little De-Oxit. Good chance that will stop it from misbehaving.
