Traveler - Dead Busses in Logic

Post by Ace of Dubs »

Hi guys,

I am very happy with my MOTU Traveler right now. The only glitch that is annoying me is the fact that none of my Bus channels work in Logic Pro 7.

It's really weird. I switch to built-in audio and the bus works fine. Switch to Traveler and I dont get a peep out of the bus, even though the corresponding channels appear to be sounding off.

Is this a common problem?

I tried playing with MOTU CueMix and have read through the manual a few times but no dice. Having tried everything and read the online FAQ, I emailed tech support but haven't heard back from them... hence this post.

I hope there is someone here who knows how to fix this cuz its doin my head in!

Here are my specs in case it matters:

15" Powerbook G4 1.67
2 GB RAM
100GB HD
OS 10.4.4
Logic Pro 7.1.1

Do you see the output meters on the traveller light up? ( I assume the busses are bussing to outs) if not, then is everything routed correctly in logic?

I know that motu products sometimes number thier outputs in seemingly strange ways with some software (or vice-versa). Using an 828mkii on a G4 running Cricket it assigned the phones out as 1&2 anlong sequencially following that, and Mains as 11&12 (I had all digital i/o disabled during this) .. are you certain that the correct bus number is selected?

Thanks for the reply.

I had the same issue with my Traveler. Had to route my headphones to 1&2.

My main outs are also routed to 1&2 and I have had no problems so far, except with the bussing issue.

I know it's not Logic's problem, because when I play through built-in audio, it all works fine.

Toying around with MOTU's cuemix does not give me options for bussing, as it is a feature of Logic.

Hopefully, the tech folk will get back to me as I am totally stumped on this one..
