I used to leave my 828 mk1 and most of my 896s on all the time. The 828s still work and I only had one 896 burn out. My current plan is not to keep my current 896s on all the time, but, I usually forget to turn them off. Three months wouldn’t worry me.
I stopped regular use of my Mk3 after many years because it developed problems on warmer days. It would stop working and would not reboot until left with power off for a few hours. Before that, it could be left on for any length of time.
There is no such thing as a recently made 828 Mk3/FW, so I’d say there is a risk.
I'm using one for a gallery installation, with the idea that it would basically run for 3 months straight.
Do you think this will be reliable? Any potential problems with overheating?
Sorry for the vagueness - if you need any more details let me know
Huge thanks in advance

Done a few installations running for weeks with this motu and no issues, including in a hot container. I'm more worried about a software crash. I also have my mk3 as my main interface running everyday for 14-18 hours without a glitch. It really doesn't run very hot.
It would be great if MOTU made a firmware with the option to turn off the displays (1248, 24Ai, 16A, etc.) that just light up unnecessarily all day. It would definitely add some time to the lifespan.
