Internal Program Error (null pointer)(-108) - Can't open DP file
I had just finished recording some acoustic guitar, just a few tracks playing, DP became unresponsive and upon re-launch it get this error message trying to re-open the project.
An error occurred while reading from the disk, the XYZ.dpdoc was not loaded
Os error:
Internal Program Error (null pointer)(-108) - Can't open DP file
I rebooted, did a disk repair there were no issues found.
Now, none of my autosaved files for this particular project will load (I save every 5 min). It gives me the same error when I try to load them. I don't understand how this can happen. I corrupt file sure although in 25 years using DP I can't remember last time I saw one. But how can it corrupt all my backups? Any ideas? I'm scoring this film and makes me very nervous now that this could happen. I can live with loosing a day's worth of work but I need to know how this happened so I can prevent it.

Weird. Normally, -108 is a memory full error.
Is the file on your system drive or external?

It was on my system drive. I moved it to an external one same issue.

A couple things to try:
Hold the Shift key while starting DP. This resets paths. Quit and try loading the project.
Trash the Preferences-don’t empty-and reboot. See what happens. If the project comes back, empty the Trash.

Thanks for the suggestions Mike. No go sadly. Hopefully Motu will be able to help. I need to know how this happened.

Re: Internal Program Error (null pointer)(-108) - Can't open DP file
Tech support suggested I try loading the chunk but I get the same error and the sequence does not appear in the chunk's window.
Speaking of which, I submitted a ticket last night and got a reply this morning. I reached out to tech support via the Live chat first thing this morning. That's actually really nice I must say to have such service. Crossing my fingers the engineers can figure out the issue and fix the problem.

Re: Internal Program Error (null pointer)(-108) - Can't open DP file
I started having this problem today. yikes. Will follow Mike's suggestions, and will contact MOTU. I hope this is not a bug.
My project is HUGE, though. I am trying to fix a mix for a feature film, and the guy who did sound before me did not understand file organization or how naming tracks affects bounced file names. It's fugly.
If you find out how to resolve this, please let me know. I am reverting to an earlier version, so we'll see how much work I lost.
