Alesis HD24, MOTU 2408, and 24IO

I am considering buying an Audiowire setup consisting of the 2408 and the 24IO to get 32 channels of analog input to my computer. I will be normally be recording into Logic or DP through my Allen & Heath GS3000 32x8 for studio work.

1. If I have the 2408 and the 24io connected via one PCI-424 will Cuemix see this as 32 Analog (8 + 24) inputs/outputs and 24 ADAT input/outputs or separate interfaces that have independent mixes?

2. I have a live recording rig which consists mainly of an Alesis HD24. I would like to be able to go multitrack a show, bring the rig back, plug the HD24 in via ADAT optical and have the option of hardware mixing the tracks through my GS3000 using the MOTU system as an ADAT converter. Is there a way to route ADAT Inputs to Analog outputs so that I can monitor through the GS3000 without software monitoring the entire thing through DP or Logic? Perhaps via a CueMix bus? This configuration would allow me come great flexibility and only require me to plug six optical cables into the 24io and not patch in 48 analog...

If the MOTU setup can't do this ADAT conversion does anybody know of any gear that can?

All interfaces connected to one PCI424 card appear in one CueMix session.
But - the 2408 only has 3 Banks of Inputs/Outputs available.
So you would get either 32 Analog I/O + 16 ADAT I/O
or 24 Analog I/O + 24 ADAT I/O from one 2408 & one 24io.
You get one StereoMixbuss per Outputpair, and yes, you could route each of your HD24 ADAT output channels to one 24io Output each
and achieve your one-click patch desired.
(But you do need to connect the 3 optical leads required into the 2408...)
