Memory Cycle automatically turns on

Been dealing with this issue for years, with DP 9, 10, now 11.
Tried deleting preferences, different Mac users (as per MOTU tech support), no luck.
Here’s the issue;
With Auto Rewind off, when using a key command to set Memory Start Time (any key, have made numerous changes to the key command), Memory Cycle turns on. If I set Memory Start with the mouse, this behavior does not happen. If Auto Rewind is on, and use a key command for Memory Start, Memory Cycle does not turn on automatically. Tech support doesn’t even answer the Tech Links anymore on this, I guess they’ve given up.
The way to replicate the issue;
Turn off Memory Rewind, the use a key command to set Memory Start, and see if Memory Cycle turns on. I assume it’s not supposed to and would be much less of a PITA if it didn’t.

Update,
It is in fact a bug, a very long time bug.
MOTU phone rep confirmed it.

I remember running into this years ago and assumed it was operator error. Was really frustrating a the time.

It is frustrating because I automatically hit the key command whether the auto rewind is on or not, and the program bumps and hesitates when Memory Cycle turns on.
The MOTU rep said he would refer it to the development team and follow up with me.
Will post when he responds.
