FFS: Can't see channels in mixer! RESOLVED

Post by larrytheo »

All of a sudden, DP won't display any channels in the mixer! In the Sequence window, I can see all the tracks, both tracks in track folders and those that are not. But the Mixer window won't display any channels. It shows track folders and indicates that they are expanded, but does not show any of the channels, and clicking on the track folders does not collapse and expand. Tracks that are not in track folders are not shown in the mixer, either. (See attached image.)

I tried saving a copy, but, unsurprisingly, that didn't work. I tried unchecking features like Sends or Faders/Meter and then rechecking them and that did nothing. I opened another sequence in the same document that is just an older version from a few weeks back of my current sequence and the mixer works fine in that sequence.

What the heck?

I should add that, just to add insult to injury, while the session is loading it will show me the mixer with all channels, but when the rainbow beach ball stops spinning, the channels all go away.

Is there a blank space in the search field?

Space in the search field FTW!! Thank you SO much! I never use the search field, so it didn't even occur to me to check there. GREAT detective work! I was SO PO'd last night. Now I'm happy again. Hooray!

Glad it worked. This seems to be another DP "gotcha" along with the View Filter. It seems like it could easily be remedied with a flashing cursor.

EDIT: I just checked - there IS a flashing cursor!

That would be exactly the fix. I must have accidentally clicked in the field and then typed. Thanks again! I hate when stupid problems happen, but I love when simple solutions are found!
