Does nothing here. Does it have to be set up somewhere?
I'm on Monterey 12.6 so in that OS it's in: SystemPreferences/Keyboard/Shortcuts/accessibility/Invert Colors

I think the main issue with black-on-white / dark-on-light is glare.

That seems to have been the main complaint and reason peeps choose / request light-on-dark options based on what I've seen over the years in forums.

It's the case for me too, which is why I'm super-grateful that James managed to sort out a light-on-dark skin.

Sho ' nuff, thar she be in the sys prefs. Funny thing, it inverts the entire screen! The emoticons get downright psychedelic!

Yeah, the inversion option's been there in the Accessibility menu for as long as I can remember Mark.

I used to use it back in the days long before light-on-dark became a thing 'cause my eyes are sensitive to glares.

I also will highlight text (command a) to lower contrast sometimes if I've been reading too long getting eye fatigue etc.

Good advice, Michael -- that's actually very relaxing and helps focus by providing additional levels of contrast.

OMG, those are near-death experiences, as I know from both my Dad's and my godson's appendectomies.

Good thing they caught it in time, but you'll probably have low energy for a few weeks (if not longer) as your body recovers. My Dad was especially lucky that the hospital was just a mile away. These things happen fast!
