Hi there,
it is time to buy a new interface. I only use DP as a DAW, being that, MOTU 828 seems to be a natural choice but I would like to read what people using the Apollo Twin x feels about it.
Thank you,
Rubens

I love my 828es and use every bit of I/O except one of the Optical Port pairs. The rack mount form factor is my preference. The built-in foot switch jack is excellent for hands-free punching in and out. The 828es works great, both with my old Cheesegrater Mac Pro via USB and my new Mac Studio via Thunderbolt.
If you like the desktop form factor, want to use UA plugins, and can live with less I/O, the Apollo would certainly be a fine choice. I'm not a fan of the missing Word Clock I/O and optical In port only, however... if you use an optical expander, it will need to be the clock source. And you will not be able to expand the analog outputs for additional headphone sends or other uses.

Hi Markus, I am sorry, I feel that some info was missing from my post.HCMarkus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:17 am I love my 828es and use every bit of I/O except one of the Optical Port pairs. Here it goes now: I need only 2 inputs and would love to have 2 pairs of speakers. I will record only acoustic guitar and vocals. All the rest will be done through virtual instruments or somewhere else. I want the best output transparency I can get from my budget. Considering MMOTU 828es, Apollo Twin x, RME UCX II.
