This one's a "doozy"!
Previously, I've been using VEPro MAS with earlier versions of DP before iLok without any issues for many years. However, after switching to VSL VE Pro iLOK, I am no longer able to establish a reliable connection via VEPro MAS and DP 11.1. For example, when I connect via the regular VE Pro (non-MAS) the connection is reliable and works fine. However, when I switch to the VEPro MAS version, the MIDI signal is delayed by something like 200 ~ 500 ms (it seems to vary) and often the notes hang or there are wrong notes (usually the adjacent note, but its not my fingers slips!). Also, often when there are hanging notes, I need to hit the note again to turn it off. I've checked in MIDI Monitor and my Yamaha S90ES is responding properly and has no MIDI delay. The delay is occurring between DP11.1 and VE Pro. My buffer setting is 256ms and I'm using one buffer in VE Pro (switching to zero makes no difference).
In the past, I've never ever experience any such MIDI delays. Its always worked perfectly!
I've followed the instructions on this page:
https://www.vsl.info/en/manuals/vep7/no ... -performer
I would use the regular VEPro (non-MAS) although I need to set up an entire orchestra template so I do need the multi-channel capability of MAS.
btw, I'm using DP11 and VE Pro MAS (latest eLicenser version) on a second computer (Hacintosh) and it works fine! So its just the iLOK version that is not working.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
My specs are as follows:

64G RAM
Mac OS 10.14.6
MOTU DP 11.1
VE Pro 7.1.1298 (iLOK)
MOTU 2408 Mk III
Yamaha S90ES (USB)

Re: DP 11.1 Trouble connecting reliably with VE Pro (iLOK)
There are multiple threads on the VEP forum at VSL about this issue, including this one. The new iLok version of VEP--especially with the MAS plugin--seems to have been released before it was ready for primetime. I got it to work by reverting back to an earlier version of VEP WITHOUT using the Vienna Assistant.
I manually uninstalled the current version of VEP using the uninstaller in the VEP folder and then downloaded and installed the .1263 version, also for iLok, using the link below, not Vienna Assistant. It all works wonderfully, now! They still haven't released an updated version. Apparently, they're too busy releasing a bunch of useless, free sound libraries that are nothing more than demos. Good luck, I hope this works for you.

Hey Brian, thanks for the reply. It looks like you've hit the same frustrating quagmire. I didn't see the post you linked on VSL so thanks for that.
Its good to know that others are experiencing the same thing as I'm confident VSL will address this problem soon. In the meantime, I've moved back to the [EDIT] previous version which you linked and everything is working great now.
Thank you for the information and sharing your solution.
Greg
