Hi everybody.
I have an old Yamaha DX7 (first generation) that I bought used and use as a controller for my Roland JV-1080. It seems that there were some funky parameters programmed on it that affects the MIDI data whenever I sequence. I can't for the life of me figure out how to reset the thing (the manual is NO help and gives me HUGE headaches).
Anyone have any idea?
Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Here's where to talk about preamps, cables, microphones, monitors, etc.

If you have the cartridge, you can reload the parameters using the DX7 cartridges.
But no, I'm afraid there is no "reset to factory" settings.
Another tip... download one of the free DX7 librarians you can find on the net, and usually they have the SYSX files for the original instruments as a downloadable file(s). Then run the librarian, open the SYSEX file, and send it to the DX7 via MIDI.
