You know, pretty soon you are going to run out of things outside of MachFive to blame and your going to have to just accept it...
No one was trying to defend the company, just trying to help a fellow user out with their problems, I'm only sorry that your obvious frustration means you thought that there was an ulterior motive. It seems from your extensive reply that you've done everything on earth and any attempts to help are going to be futile, forget everything I said.
By the way your Beta of VST wrapper is full of bugs and out of date, a new release is coming any day now, but I'm sure you knew that already! Now where did I put that gun? I'm off to blow my brains out!

By it's inherant nature the technology industry is built on a basic flaw, they promise us too much, we expect too much, with this situation there are bound to be tears!!
MIDI as this forum is not match.com is our date now off?
Russ,
Unless your in the beta program for VST-RTAS right now, I think that my version may be more current than yours is... It's best to ask politely first before assuming...
FxPansion beta Version 2.04 just released about a week before NAMM and in the final stages of testing

I am! You will be getting an email from Angus any time now regarding a new beta release... as you say it's best to ask politely before assuming...
I'd appreciate it if you didn't mis-represent the inherent content of my posts when responding. Or at least explain to me WHERE, in my post (my original post) did I call you or ANYONE expressing that machfive doesn't work "flawlessly" a surface user?
You're sitting around on the board, trying to be funny, and failing. Do you actually work in music, or do you just futz around on weekends, and play for your brother's children every other Friday?
Incidentally, I didn't even hint at my resume, which is totally irrelevant; you're like a magician, taking posts and twisting them into something else. Do you by chance, own a tuxedo with tails, and a bunny?
Flare wrote:Anyone's who's saying that they're using Machfive "flawlessly" is a TOTAL surface user. Period.
I'm sorry I must have misread this! Sorry I misrepresented you by quoting you verbatim!
Or perhaps when you wrote this you meant something else, perhaps it was the ambiguity of the comment that threw me?
No I don't work in music - I stack shelves, do some gardening, clean toilets in fact everything but music! In fact I've never been near a musical instrument, studio, record store, itunes account, in fact what am I doing, this is the first time I've been near a computer, now where's that top hat gone?
What happened to the discussion about MachFive v2.0?
Oh I get it, Russ is a magician and he is going to conjure MachFive 2 out of his top hat by waving his magic wand and chanting "motu-cadabara" seven times, and then voila, vaporware no more! And he'll also conjure up a free iLok toy surprise inside to go with it!
well i'll be back in paris on the 13th and i'll drop by univer son again to see if i can squeeze (un peu d'information) some info out of those dudes.

Good idea - yes let's get back to mach Five 2.0 - is it ready yet?
I bought Mach Five based on the Sweetwater catalog quoting the specs of V.2 and then mentioning that if you bought Version 1 version 2 would be a free upgrade. From the copy, it seemed that Version 2 was "just around the corner". MOTU announced Version 2 at Winter NAMM in 2005, and it was still a "no show" at Winter NAMM 2006.
I'm all for releasing a program when it is "right" and complete, but MOTU should at least inform those of us who took their announcement and the "free upgrade" primer on a leap of faith of the status. If you are behind on a target release due to working out critical issues...fine, let your loyal customers know that. I can and will wait for the update, but have been disappointed thus far in the lack of ANY form or attempt by MOTU to at least aknowledge that they are now past a year of an announced product that has features is listed in sales catalogs in such a way as "it's almost here", yet it is not even on the horizon if you go by the information on the MOTU website.
MOTU: Learn from Gabe Newell at Valve Software (developer of Half-Life and Half-Life 2). They announced Half-Life 2 as "on schedule", yet were over a year past expectant release. He angered many expectant gamers by not acknowledging that development was taking longer, leading everyone to believe it was coming "soon". Gabe learned to "respect" the consumers with honesty and information, we can understand it if development is taking longer, please DO get it right. But let us know if it's going to be awhile with at least some even some idea of a realistic release date: Q2 2006, Q3 2006, etc.
