Lost audio input after DP 11.1 update RESOLVED
I lost audio input recording after this update . Output works fine and everything else seems normal . DP sees my interface , but no audio makes it into DP , not even showing on input monitor and even tried loopback too. I even tested with iMovie to make sure interface gets audio into Mac . It must be some preference I cant find that bumped this off ? I tried deleting some preferences but same issue . Everything worked perfect on 11.04 before this update to 11.1
Tried buffer settings , Audio setup many times , reinstalled M4 drivers , Reinstalled DP11.1 etc
Anyone have any ideas ? Thank you

I'm having the same problem. Switching back to 11.04 until I get a chance to work on it.

Lost audio input after DP 11.1 update
Try going to System Settings / Security and Privacy and make sure DP is set to be able to use the Microphone. I just saw a DP user post that on Facebook.

Re: Lost audio input after DP 11.1 update
A new feature is that 11.1 can automatically select what it considers to be the best Audio I/O. Perhaps it’s guessing wrong. You still have the option of doing it the old way.

Re: Lost audio input after DP 11.1 update
I just checked that setting and it shows DP 11.04 in the list (though I replaced it with 11.1).
So apparently the OS doesn't pay attention to the app's name/version, and "Microphone" must mean any input from any audio interface.

Not seeing this, but I just now tried it. I spent so much time futzing with my instrument tracks that I didn't have a chance. I'm really trying to like 11.1.

Re: Lost audio input after DP 11.1 update
Hey Mike ! Thanks for the input , much appreciated and I will also look at this . I did resolve it with that mic input in Security prefs , interesting thing it showed as 11.0.4 and I ended up reverting to 11.04 before I even saw that mic fix . Now I'm working on 11.1 and it is still selected as 11.0.4 on that mic pref in security settings , not showing as 11.1 ? Well it's working and so far OK .mikehalloran wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 9:20 am A new feature is that 11.1 can automatically select what it considers to be the best Audio I/O. Yea, that's what I saw, too (see above). Not so slick. But it works.

Yeah, I just got a response to a TechLink. I was told about the microphone setting. It solved the problem here.

The mic setting works for interface users too? I'm confused, is this a Monterey or Big Sur thing?

Re: Lost audio input after DP 11.1 update
It’s a very old thing but the MacOS didn’t used to ask. Now it does—with some uses, beginning High Sierra, others Mojave. Beginning Big Sur, any app requiring the microphone has to ask but if you have certain notifications turned off, you won’t get the memo. Some don’t prompt till after a reboot. It would be nice if this was consistent.

Thanks for the Microphone preference tip!
I was just starting to troubleshoot this and you saved me a lot of time.
