This one expired two years ago (9/15/2020). I got mine back then, but let us know if it still works.
Probably not. No sign of it on their site. In any case, anyone tempted should have a look at the threads describing how installing new Waves plugins deletes the existing plugins, at least those from earlier versions, and the rigamarole required to get them back.

I deleted a couple of the posts pertaining to the expired Waves plug-in offer.

I should point out, that it seems the Waves Central installer only deletes the version 9 waveshell component. What I do is temporarily move it out of the components folder before I install or update a plug-in with Waves Central, and then move it back. You can also restore it from a back up.

I don't think the free version needs iLok, as it never appeared in my account. There always seems to be a demand for this sort of thing, and it might be worth the price of some extra email.

Here’s a YouTube video with plenty of free stuff. I found this guy’s channel and he often shares a lot of the deals going on in his weekly review videos.

WAVDSP Magic Suite

Post by James Steele »

This is an interesting suite of plug-ins.

https://wavdsp.com/magic-suite/

They're all free except for Magic Vocal which their site lists for $19.99 but you can buy it for $9.99 at KVR Marketplace till 9am PST on April 14. Link is here:

https://www.kvraudio.com/marketplace/ma ... -by-wavdsp

Be forewarned, if you do decide to get Magic Vocal, I had an issue with the AU version where DP froze up and I had to use the VST2 version instead and that works fine. Magic Vocal also requires iLok authorization. It seems like a surprisingly useful plug as are the free ones in this suite.

The download links will take you to a different page where you have to download the "Magic Suite" installer which will install VST, VST3, AU and AAX versions of all the plugs including the Magic Vocal plug. There's no option to choose just the free plugs, so if you don't want to get Magic Vocal, you'll have to just delete it in all the various formats.

Thanks for the reminder about this. I got the mailer, too. I did already own some of these. My question though: have you tried the bx_limiter True Peak? I creates an enormous 25% CPU hit in DP's Effect Performance window. At least that's the VST version. I tried using that because the AU was really bad as well. So bad that both versions bogged down the GUI and cause the playback wiper to skip. In the past I had a similar problem with an AU plug and loaded the VST and it resolved it, but not this time. That plug-in is unusable for me in DP, but at least I didn't actually spend money for it.

Wow! Bad news mate.

I waited a year for a sale before buying it. I haven't heard that complaint about its use in DP. Haven't loaded it up myself (no audio software for 5+ years now), so all I can suggest is that you make sure it's the latest version.

Seems to have been working great for all and sundry.

Yeah... not sure why. I can live without it. Every so often I come across one or two plugs that do something to DP (or my installation anyway) and absolutely bring DP to its knees. I tried all formats VST2, VST3 and AU and they all just bog DP down something fierce. I'm not too eager to dig deeper into solving the mystery. In a few months I want to go to some flavor of Mac Studio. Most likely the M1 Max for budgetary reasons. I expect the transition will be something of a nightmare as I have so much crap on this boot drive, I don't want to use Migration Assistant, but re-install everything directly. Also, I imagine a lot of things just aren't going to work. Ugh.

Chin up, mate; there'll be unexpected benefits to the transition, as there always are.

The PA plugins are being converted to Apple-Silicon-native / compatible as we speak. Not sure if this particular one's been updated yet, but if not, it will.

My guess is that'll sort things out for you. I wouldn't give up on it; everything I've heard suggests it's a ripper limiter.

Oh yeah... not giving up on it. Just postponing it as I'm sure it will be AS native at some point.

I went to dinner after I hit download. It took a few hours, but totally worth it. It's one go the nicest free instruments I've ever used. I'm pretty much sold on the full version, whenever it comes out.
