I'm sure this is because I'm still a relative noob with DP, but I'm winding up with a rather cumbersome workflow. I've got a project routing several instruments through IK Multimedia's Sampletank, but it seems to feel the need to open up a separate Sampletank window for each of these instruments, rather than being able to route them all through the same instance. Is there a way to change this so that I only have to deal with one Sampletank window rather than half a dozen?
Also, is there a way to minimize those windows and keep them minimized so that they don't keep popping up on my screen when I want to have another application's window open for reference (specifically Finale) while actually working in DP?
Again, I'm trying to catch up with using DP 10 after not having used it heavily since DP 3 way back in my college days.
Just drag another patch into the main Sampletank window rather than opening another instance of Sampletank. Make sure its MIDI input channel is different from the first patch, Then create a MIDI track and direct its output to the original instance of Sampletank with correct MIDI channel. In the Output drop down there will be a list showing the instrument name, in this case Sampletank, followed by the MIDI channel. Don’r create a new Instrument track for each patch you want.
Think of a VI in DP as a hardware synth. You can send multiple MIDI channels to it.
To minimize, just close the Sampletank window as you would any other. You can get it back by double clicking wherever it appears in an insert, or in the Instrument track.
