Help! Some Au Plugs gone for no reason
About 1/3 of my AU plug randomly disappeared and upon launch of DP it says 'Effect Error: The following Effects Could Not Be Found."
It is some of the Waves plugs and some IK plugs. I checked the preferences and those plugs are not even showing up as something I can check or uncheck. No recent installs or updates of any kind. I am using a semi -old system because I have been making an album for 2 years and don't want to update software in the middle of it.
Dp 9.52 on i-mac running 10.12.6 - have had no issues with this thing for years. Tired re-installing Ik bundle but certain plugs still not showing up in list.
Any thoughts on what I could try.
Thanks in advance.

Effects not found?
I can understand VIs not found — easily refreshed by opening SampleTank from within DP and asking it to reload everything again.
Were any of these on an external drive? Were your projects on an external?
It's possible (likely) that a recent install of something—can be unrelated—messed up a system path.
Here's what I would do. First, shut down and boot holding the Shift key. When you see the login screen, do so and wait till all your desktop icons look normal. Now reboot.
Next start DP with the same key held down. The audio system won't load. it will force DP to rebuild any paths also.
This can also be a sign of a hardware issue. What is your Mac? Does it have a HDD (mechanical hard drive), Fusion or SSD only?

Any chance you downloaded and installed the DP 10 or 11 demos recently??

Re: Help! Some Au Plugs gone for no reason
Thanks for the tips, Since Waves had the most missing plugs I started there. Found a folder called "unused waves" in the waves folder which had all these plugs I regularly use and I didn't put them there. Repaired permissions of Waves, trashes Waves and MAS prefs, now all those WAVES plugs ins show up and work. Good.
That was all in 32 bit mode, when I switch to 64 bit mode no AU plug ins show up at all, and none in the plug in menu in the DP preferences. Just MAS and VST show up in 64 bit mode. How do I fix this?

Use 64 bit or 32/64 bit versions of your plug-ins. 32 bit only versions are very old by now. It depends on the plug whether you can just download and install newer versions or if you will have to purchase upgrades.
You will need to use the latest version of the IK Product Manager and see what requires paid upgrades and what doesn't.

I don't use Waves but I'll be surprised if you can update anything without a fee. There are others more learned in this than I.

I was using 64 bit before, but now when i run in 64 bit, no AU plug ins show up in prefs, so I cannot enable them since they are not there. Any ideas?

Motu tech support thinks it has something to do with ios updates and they are working on it. i didn;t know it was updating automatically but I guess there were some updates. There was a "device support update"
