M5 Manual

Post by mxman1 »

I bought Mach 5 v1 the first week it came out and it's been sitting in my HD and ilok unused ever since. Now wanting to use it I've not been able to find my manual due to moving home and office. I know this might be a sore point to some (software piracy and all) but where do a I get another manual?? I would think the piracy issue is not a determining factor since M5 uses ilok. I might be wrong though.
The bottom line is where would a legitimate paid user get a manual?
Thanks

You might want to contact MOTU if you haven't already.

I don't think the M5 manual is as much an issue. For one, M5 needs a dongle. Second, them manual fairly sucks (IMO), is fairly small (165 including index) and finally, the program is pretty easy to figure out. I, for one, am happy to answer your M5 questions w/o any confirmation of a manual. You simply cannot run the program w/o the dongle. :)

FWIW, the binder is white and can disappear on a bookshelf.

Thanks for your support. I have a dongle...it runs fine....MOTU wants $25 for a manual IF they have one, so ......
The first question I have is that which sparked my interest again after v1 was a buggy no go all those years ago.....Mach5 will run under Protools TDM? This seems like a MAJOR advantage ove any other sampler I know of. Does it's engine really take advantage of the PT TDM architecture?
More questions to come ....where should I post them...PM? This header..new headers on this forum?

Thanks

My suggestion is topost them in the MachFive forum. You no doubt noticed people with PT issues. I don't use PT so i'm no help there.

M5 was running OK for me thru version 1.08, but 1.2 was a disaster. After I moved to OS X Tiger, M5 1.2.3 worked fine and should be a free upgrade for you (I think...?)

$25 for the manual??? Ouch! There's really not that much to get in it. But it might be worth it if it can help with running in PT, I suppose.
