Waves is having one of their their WUP renewal sales now -- 25% off. Order from a reseller like Audio Deluxe to bring the price down even more. My WUP was at the $240 cap, and I renewed for $165. I have a bunch of v10, v11 and v12 Waves plugins i wanted to upgrade to v13 for Apple Silicon, anticipating the M1 Mac Mini I hope is coming very soon...

I just did this through AudioDeluxe and was surprised to get an email that suggests the process isn’t automated.

“Your price request for Waves WUP Renewal has been submitted! An AudioDeluxe team member will review your request as soon as possible.”

Hmmm. I have 5 hours left for the sale?

A few still use the License Files that have given many grief over the years so I'm glad to see that PSP is slowly replacing those and not charging version upgrade fees.
Yes, I’m happy with the updates and move to iLok. I’m on the email list and have been doing the updates for quite a while. The site and the process for updates and authorization are quite easy to use and so far, very reliable.

Re: Izotope R4 Reverb. $9.99. Was $299.00 ($289.01 off)

$10 is a good price, but all the EA reverbs are officially abandonware. iZotope has said they won’t be developed further. Very irritating for those of us that bought them, but at least they had the decency to announce it rather than leave everyone to guess.
It's worse than that. At 2am, I decided to fire up R4 on a strings VI — heck, I'd never used it before, let's see.

Turns out that, except for Phoenixverb, all EA reverbs crash over Monterey, even on Intel Machines. Of course, all the complaints online are about Logic but I can confirm they crash DP 11.04, too, instantaneously. I also have Phoenixverb and it did open but reading that it will never be M1 Native, I decided to use Neoverb instead after auditioning a few others. Although Neoverb is iZotope, it is not Exponential Audio and it uses the iZotope Product Portal.

After reading of Logic users not being able to load projects that include R2/R4/Nimbus/Stratus/Symphony etc., I've removed all EA 'verbs from my system. This way, I will only get the Missing Plug-in message if I were to reopen some of my older projects.

Overloud REmatrix player and Reverb IRs - FREE

Post by James Steele »

This says it runs out on 3/7 which is coming soon on the West Coast. Hopefully they're not strict on the time limit. It appears to be a IR player with a set of free IRs from a Blackstar Studio (in Italy?).

I got it! I have most of SSL plugins and they're all very good. I've been waiting for this one to go on sale for a couple years!

Now and then, SSL will take one of their (expensive) plugins and put it on sale for something stupid like this.. my advice to you guys is to just get it, before it's gone!
DP11, 2019 16-Core Mac Pro, OS 14 Sonoma , 64GB RAM. RME HDSPe MADI FX to SSL Alphalink to SSL Matrix console, and multiple digital sub consoles. UAD Quad PCIe. Outboard stuff.

A Plug-In (of sorts) on sale at Costco

Post by HCMarkus »

https://www.costco.com/cyberpower-1500v ... 27623.html

$150 for a pure sine wave 1500VA UPS. Not a Member's Only deal. Compare to $240 on Amazon.

Looks like "last years model", which is the one I own (actually, more than a few years old) and which work perfectly. Userr-replaceable batteries can be off the shelf, no need to buy from CyberPower.

This is truly a Plug In.

Impact Soundworks 88E Piano - FREE

Post by James Steele »

https://impactsoundworks.com/product/the-88e/

Works with Kontakt Player

From the site:
What if you tuned every note on a piano to “E”, and played them all at once? Wonder no more: the unbelievably huge sound of The 88E is now playable at any pitch with this free virtual instrument loaded with sound design options, and created in partnership with YouTuber and mad scientist engineer Mattias Krantz.
At checkout they will ask for small donation for bandwidth. Also there's a checkbox to ask if you want to create a Pulse Downloader (or whatever they call it) account. I already had one from another "freebie" instrument. So I didn't check that. I got an email with a serial number, and then put that into the Pulse app and it downloaded the library. However, when I opened it in Kontakt it did not play and said "DEMO." So I ran Native Access, (which the manual refers to and makes no mention of Pulse) and then chose "Add a serial" and used the same serial again and this time it initiated an approx. 3 GB download. So I went to my NI Sample Libraries folder and renamed the previously installed "The 88E" folder while this download is going as I figure it's going to properly install from Native Access. I don't know what this Pulse thing is about, but I'll know in a another minute or two if it's not necessary.

Okay... from what I can tell IGNORE THE PULSE THING. Only use the serial number you get from Impact Soundworks with Native access.

By the way... this thing sounds COOL! Get it!

Basic free drum VI with just one kit, but also comes with pretty good, utilitarian groove library which can be dragged and dropped and used with other drum VIs if you wish.

Ugritone Vintage Doom Drums $5

Post by James Steele »

This Finnish company has been blowing out these great little drum VIs lately. This is another in a series of sales they've been promoting on Facebook. I already got the Arena Rock Drums and Speed Metal previously for $5 a piece and they're amazing for the money. They have their own proprietary drum kit hosting plug-in... and this latest one Vintage Doom Drums has got some great preset kits including 1974BlackMetal and ModernDoom... kind of old school Sabbath kinda thing.

https://ugritone.com/collections/heavy- ... doom-drums

By the way, if it wasn't already cheap enough, you can type in "15off" and only pay $4.25! Unreal... Get it.
