Windows weirdness?

Post by gavspen »

Hi All,

I'm using a Mac Mini, Big Sur 11.6.2 and DP 11.0. running in Rosetta (otherwise iLok wont let me use .ufs files)

If a DP window is behind a virtual instrument window, it wont come to the front when clicked. A DP window behind another DP window will, but if a, say, Stylus RMX window is in front of a DP window, then it wont.

Pretty annoying. Anyone else getting this?

I don't have DP up at the moment, but I think that's a Preference you can set to keep VIs and Plugins in front.

I cant find it if that's so Brian, but it sounds like it could be a thing. I'll keep looking.

Also noticed while clicking around that sometime a window will be black when I click on it. Clicking around on other windows, then back, cures it, but just another PITA. Oy.

Yeah, it's not the most obvious thing. Open the Preferences window (under the Digital Performer menu) and select "Audio Plug-ins" from the left column. In the bottom section of that window, you should see a little checkbox for "Plug-in windows float above other windows by default". Uncheck that box and that should do it for you.

You can also set this on a per plug basis by opening the plug in and choosing the option from the drop down menu in the upper right of the plug in window.

The button in DP preferences seems to have no effect at all, but the ones in the plugins themselves do it. Weird.

Thanks fellas.

The preference selection is global, but it doesn't alter the status of the open project.
