Hello to all!!
I just started working with M5 and it is a little confusing.
Is there a way to trigger multiple(diff.) sections of 1 sample and map them to the keyboard?. within the same preset.. SB
All I am able to do is trigger one section of the sample...I need it to operate like recycle.
I can accomplish what I want to do if I duplicate the sample and rename it and choose a diff. section, However there has to be another way.
I hope this is not confusing
Thanks,
Scorch

If you have a slice groove, you can do that. I had heard that V2 was supposedly going to be REX compatible. But who knows if M5 II will ever be released.
So far as M5 acting like recycle, it does not. You need to slice the beats up, either in DP, or Recycle, and then drag and drop the slices back into M5.

I'm an old fan of Bitshift Audio's plugin for this; phatmatik pro. Won it, believe it or not, on one of those bizarre website competitions; now I kind of wonder how I ever got on without one.
I hope M5 picks up on these features as well - it's in the spec list, I guess, but there's no telling how usable it is. There's an occasional issue with the format of some files when loaded into it, but otherwise, I'd say give phatmatik a try. It's basically a 'bespoke tool' purely for this.
It's a bit long in the tooth now - must be a couple of years old, I guess, not sure. Seems like I've had it forever. And the UI can be... unusually complicated at times. But it's all there, and it all works like it says on the tin.
When M5's version comes out, this'll be what I compare it to - it's the only tool of its kind I've ever used before.

If I understand you correctly, how about making multiple keygroups (zones) and assigning the same sample to them. Then you could tweak the sample start settings on individual keygroups? My only thought is that it wouldn't be very precise.
I do think that perhaps you're mixing up the function of Recycle and a sampler - I'm used to using Recycle to chop a loop up into individual slices, then put them on different keys on my (hardware) sampler. This works, but there's definitely three different processes there - slicing, converting and playback. MachFive does all the playback bits OK - are you lacking the slicing or converting?
Does UVIx cope with Rex loops? They're listed as being compatible on the encyclopaedic Motu site. What about Rex2?
