Locked MIDI notes not allowing selection
Hi - hope someone can help with an odd and frustrating new problem...
I have some notes in the MIDI editor that can only be highlighted with the 'plus' symbol but otherwise cannot be manipulated by any normal means:
• the cursor will not turn into the 'hand' symbol when I try to drag the note to change its duration
• the note cannot be dragged either up, down, left or right.
The only thing I can do is highlight the note and change whatever parameter is open at the bottom of the MIDI editor (e.g. On Velocity, Articulation, etc.)
The following hasn't helped: toggling grid on/off, trying it in the Sequence Editor, press the A key to change to cursor, using the Tool Palette, re-performing the part, restarting DP, restarting entire machine.
Other non-performed MIDI notes work fine (both pencilled-in and imported MIDI) and this problem has only started occurring today for notes I have played in using my MIDI controller, which was working just fine yesterday.
Any ideas please, DP wizards?
[Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7, 16GB RAM, DP 11.3, Apollo twin, Jamstik 24 MIDI guitar alongside Tec2 breath controller to track parts]
EDIT: #$&@ knows why but it's just started randomly working. Gonna be one of those days....

A re-boot will often work miracles.

Same thing happening here, same OS. I've got the crosshair cursor and can't get arrow/hand back. This has persisted across a reboot and restart. I'm noticing I get the arrow (and select/move etc) if I hover over the beginning of the note, and can also get the adjust start cursor, but get crosshair everywhere else and can't adjust end.Jimi wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 4:53 am Hi - hope someone can help with an odd and frustrating new problem...

Please set up your signature so we know what system you are running, etc.
Re: Locked MIDI notes not allowing selection
I'm also experiencing this problem using the latest version of DP on Windows. Since I'm a fairly new DP user, I figured I was doing something wrong and searched the forum for advice, but found this thread instead.
Running DP 11.03 on Windows 10
Re: Locked MIDI notes not allowing selection
For anyone still having problems with this all you need to do is set all notes to the same MIDI channel, eg MIDI channel 1 and problem solved.

Re: Locked MIDI notes not allowing selection
This is very interesting.
I was wondering how can I get to this situation i.e. locking MIDI notes.
I find it useful when editing MIDI notes while having more than one strip available at the MIDI tab.
Editing a MIDI strip, while viewing the notes from other strips and without worrying of altering/deleting the other notes...
