Big Sur + DP11.03 +VE Pro 7 have a problem [solved?]

Hi there,

I'm getting stutters and red in the "Real time" bar in DP all of a sudden.

Symptoms:

1. Locally-loaded (VE Pro on Mac Pro with DP) sounds work fine;

2. Satellite PC-loaded (VE Pro 7 on Windows 10 PC, updated this week) -- "Real time" meter runs right up to red, many stutters of sounds coming in from the PC, a sort of echo, and DP itself is stuttering too.

Mac Pro specs: Mac Pro 2019, buffer 512, 384GB of RAM, 16 core. Mac OS is Big Sur v11.6

I've just updated to Big Sur in the last weeks and today updated DP to v11.03. Using VE Pro 7, which also is up to date. There is a new Big Sur update showing on System Preferences that I've tried running several times but it has failed.

I've been at this for about 30 years with Performer / DP, have been using this PC for a couple of years, and the Mac Pro I've already scored hours of music since purchased, so I don't suspect hardware. I just updated the drivers for the interfaces (MOTU 1248 and two 112Ds) and for the Accelsior drive (SoftRAID).

Not sure what else to try but looking for suggestions.

Looks as though it's Kaspersky Internet Security -- it didn't cause problems in the past but turning it off fixed everything.

Hopefully I can figure out settings that will allow it to be on.
