Minor bug
When I'm doing vocals, sometimes I redo a double vocal line but I forget to change tracks. I record it and then copy it and control z to get back to the start then paste the line I copied into the double track I meant to record it on, that is if I like the line. This worked fine in previous versions of DP but now it does not hold the copy of the line. It tries to past but never does.
I loose the line.
I loose the line.

Re: Minor bug
Why not only record songs in major keys?

Re: Minor bug
What is control-z assigned to in your set up? - my default DP commands were long ago altered. Regardless, are you saying this worked in DP10, but not DP11? DP10 messed with some of the modifiers, but I hadn't noticed anything different in 11.Timeline wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:56 pm When I'm doing vocals, sometimes I redo a double vocal line but I forget to change tracks. FWIW the way I do this operation is select the soundbite that was recorded on the wrong track and then do 'Move Selection Down' (down arrow for me) to the track I meant to record on, and paste. ...ProTools has a Nudge Selection Down, which I desperately wish DP had, but that's another subject.

Re: Minor bug
I'm not sure. Could have happened when I moved to Mohave but I used the trick quite a bit. Seems like its a slow burn how we loose and gain attributes we commonly get used to over time. I guess that's called progress to some. I call it kind of unfortunate.

Re: Minor bug
I've used that fall-back method before, too.
I guess if you always have overdub on, you can drag the newly recorded soundbite downward into another track. But yea, it might be worth starting a ticket with MOTU on that one. I have to imagine that's a pretty typical workaround for at least some users.

Re: Minor bug
I lost my beloved Option-Zoom with DP10. It allowed me to use one hand to zoom in the SE using a mouse that has an extra assignable click. Now zooming requires an additional key and/or two double-taps (enable/disable zoom tool) for the same action. I'm still adjusting to this change.
I'm still curious what command you had Control-z assigned to.

Re: Minor bug
Hmm. I tried to duplicate this but I couldn't. I think I followed your method exactly, but it pasted fine.
Is command-v working ok in other DP operations?
Your friendly neighborhood Phil

Re: Minor bug
Same here. Is this just a matter of not having Overdub turned on? If I turn it on and off I can get both of the two results you described. If this is a change from V10 to V11 so Overdub doesn’t work, then its a pretty serious bug, but surely others would have noticed?

Re: Minor bug
Overdub on or off makes no difference here. Command Z (or undo from menu) followed by Command V (or paste from menu) works fine in either mode.

Re: Minor bug
Huh? In Maclandia Command Z/V is undo/paste commonly. It sounds like he has Control Z setup for some sort of memory function?

Re: Minor bug
So, to be clear...
2 "control z to get back to the start" (I think you meant command z) [undo record on track with command Z]
3 "paste the line I copied into the double track I meant to record it on" [paste in second track with command V]
Do I have this right? Or did I totally misunderstand?
1 "record vocal double and then copy it" [copy the second soundbite with command C]Timeline wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:56 pmI record it and then copy it and control z to get back to the start then paste the line I copied into the double track I meant to record it on, that is if I like the line. Re: Minor bug
Thats right Phil. If others have this working maybe its Mojave. I managed to install it on my 09 Mac. could be my issue.

Re: Minor bug
Oh! So in the OP when you said Control, you meant Command? That's very different. So you're just saying Undo is clearing the clipboard. Yeah, that's definitely not happening here. I'da noticed that on day one.
