Track color SHADES not showing up in Tracks window

Unfortunately, this still did not work for me. I noticed that other Color Schemes seems to offer shading of colors... but in THAT scenario, the colors of the MIDI regions in Tracks Overview do not match the colors icons on corresponding MIDI tracks. This is so strange!

Try starting a new project. Then follow these steps exactly:

1. Go to Preferences/Track Colors
2. Click Open beside "edit color schemes".
3. From list choose (New) Rainbow, then click Edit, to open editor, then OK.

Just wanted to make sure you did that extra edit step.

Yeah I did exactly that and it didn't fix it. Starting to feel hopeless haha.

hey I had this problem too and ended up contacting MOTU to fix it. All I had to do was turn down the Background Saturation under "Soundbite Colors" in the Track Colors pane of Preferences. Hope that helps!

HERE's THE SOLUTION...

In the attached labeled screenshot:

• Open the DP preferences and Select "Track Colors" (#1)

• Open "Edit Color Schemes" (#2)

• Double click to edit the color scheme (#3). Clicking on each will change your colors onscreen, so you can click 'til you find the one closest to the one you like or the "Theme" you're using.

  Don't be confused...
  "Schemes" are basic preset color sets MOTU gives you. "Themes" are presets (provided by MOTU or customized by you) containing a bunch of pre-configured settings and "Color Schemes". Sometimes the scheme just wasn't made with gradients, but they can all be modified.

NOW, here's where MOTU screwed up (aside from confusing us with "Themes" and "Schemes")... Themes without gradients aren't "broken" as we thought, there's simply no intuitive indication onscreen that the "Color Scheme Editor" is a modifiable gradient spectrum tool. This is where you can easily customize the "Scheme:"

• Double-click on the first color box (#4) where you want the spectrum to begin and change it

• Do the same with the 8th box (#5)
  

• Click "OK," "Done," "OK..."

One last trick for the "spectrum" lines: You can actually drag the rightmost color box to the left (#5 to #4) or vice-versa to reverse the gradient order.
