"banks-fingerprints.windows" file in root directory?

Post by James Steele »

Actually there are two files in the root directory of my boot drive:

banks-fingerprints.windows
sets-fingerprints.windows

... that I do not know what they are for. I want to delete them. Does anybody know what they are? A google search surprising only turned up a German website where someone asked the same questions and never got an answer.

I find them on a French site, also. No idea what app may have installed these but apparently, they are docs and can be removed.

If you cannot through the standard Trash/Empty or Option-Empty, try booting in Safe Mode, disabling SIP or both.

Might be. I think it might be something iOS uses, or maybe Macs with appropriate hardware, but my old MacPro5,1 has none of that.
