help overdub recording MIDI CCs

Post by tristanshout »

I recently upgraded from DP6 to DP11. Overdubbing MIDI CCs onto a MIDI track was dead simple in DP6, but I can't figure out how to do it in DP11. I've read that it has something to do with automation, but I've had no luck at all getting it to work. CCs from my keyboard aren't getting recorded into the MIDI track while overdub recording, but notes are.

Is there a simple tutorial for getting me up to speed on how to do this with DP11?

You could add a similar MIDI track and record only the MIDI cc info on the new track.

I hope this helps.

the problem appears to only happen when MIDI Patch Thru is turned off. Turn on MIDI Patch Thru and CCs are overdubbed just like I would expect. This is a big inconvenience for the keyboard I'm recording from: it's not super easy to turn local control on/off. I have filed this as a DP11 bug at motu.com.
