Switching Presets with Pedal?

Hi guys,

Is there any way to switch the user presets on a MOTU MIDI Express XT or Micro Express with a pedal or foot switch?

AFAIK the devices themselves don't respond to pedal input other than converting it to MIDI and sending it out.
MIDI express xt on win 98
MIDI express xt usb on windows 10
MIDI time piece ii with no computer to connect it to
828 original on leopard
