Hi! its just yesterday that i encountered this annoying problem with track automation. this is my situation.
im working on a new project for mixing. i took a snapshot on my mixing board. fader set to 0. this is the setting for my snapshot.
Time Range:All Time
Tracks:Tracks shown on the mixing board
Data Type: Data Type Visible in the mixing board
then i press record enabled for automation, set to latch mode. then i hit play ,and make the automation for the volume fader,i always use my mouse not do this, then did the automation, lets say -3db on the volume, when i stop the playback my fader remains on -3db or wherever i set the volume fader until the end of the sequence,i dont want this, i expect it to go back to 0 to where i set my snapshot, and just retains my automation moves. it should go back to where i set my snapshot after when either pressing stop playback or disabling the automation record, but before, this is not the case..when i take snapshot, then do automation when i stop the playback or disable record automation it goes back to wehre my snapshot is, i always use my mouse to automate been doing this for 12 yrs. i have a lot of mixing projects and i always use automation.. now i tried to re open previous project to check if its affected by this bug. and yes it is affected. please help. this frustrates me, and ruining my mixing session flow. Thank You!

Re: Track Automation/Snapshot bug Problem!
Has anyone fund a solution to this? Latch automation used to always return/ramp back to the same level it was before automation after exiting automation. It doesn't act this way anymore. It writes the automation the end of the track now with the new value. That's not how it used to work before upgrading to DP 11.

Re: Track Automation/Snapshot bug Problem!
IME, automation has always, since DP4, been one of DP's weakest points by far.
For me it's always unreliable, especially when coupled with timeline edits and pasting/sniping heavily automated tracks; sometimes mute automation works, but most times it doesn't. Sometimes DP plays the automation correctly for some parameters but not others, etc. Other times it plays them all correctly, but only when you play the sequence from the very beginning. It's really annoying
Have you checked that you have the Chasing function on and active? It's in one of the right-most menus. If it still doesn't work, your issue sounds to me like the very familiar DP automation problems I usually have. I gave up on mixer automation modes long ago, and I must do most automation by hand with the Trim and pencil tools these days (DP4 used to be much better in this regard).

Re: Track Automation/Snapshot bug Problem!
Has anyone noticed a fix for the Latch automation bug not ramping back to the previous value? Wondering if either of the two updates since 11 came out have addressed the issue? Anyone found a fix?

Re: Track Automation/Snapshot bug Problem!
When I read the DP User Guide, page 864 describes the automation mode behaviours such that the one you seem to be describing is called Touch, and the behaviour you describe is exactly as the manual prescribes for Latch mode. Could these modes have changed in dp11? This would be most irregular and confusing. Or have I just missed the point?!
