DP4.12 w/ iMac G5, HELP!!!!!!!
I'm having this problem, when i try to record or press play DP4 will shut down automatically. What is the problem?? It works fine on my eMac. Anyone have some advice???
Interface on both?
OSX versions on both?
RAM on both?
Driver versions on both?
Throw us a little more info.
Some quick suggestions:
-If the OS is much newer, you need to use a newer version of DP, that version I do not believe is compatible with Tiger.
-If all else fails, uninstall all of DP and preference, empty trash, reboot to be safe, and reinstall. This mostly happens when you are updating versions normally, but something I've had to do once or twice.

Same issue here
Just purchased a new Imac G5 with the new Intel Processor and loaded DP 4 onto it and the same happens here...I can audition soundbytes, load sounds into DP 4, add them to tracks, and even bounce those sounds to disk, but i can't play them...i have an older Mac tower running OSX 10.3 and DP4 works fine on it...really don't want to upgrade DP because I'm fine with what I have...maybe I could try running my Imac on system 10.3 instead of 10.4...do you think it could cause problems with the new Intel chip?...let me know if you work out this kink...
Thanks, Buddhaboy

Re: Same issue here
MOTU has to recompile DP to run on the Intel chip... this is going to run DP4 for a long time if ever. You'll need to wait for DP5 universal binary sometime in 2nd Qtr 2006.Buddhaboy wrote:Just purchased a new Imac G5 with the new Intel Processor and loaded DP 4 onto it and the same happens here...
