Hi - I'm new here, having just upgraded from DP4 to DP11. Having lots of issues, not least of which is Preferences > Audio Plugins. When I click on this I get beachballed for ever. Just like the good old days! I'm also experiencing extremely long load times - it seems to get stuck on 'Loading plugin: MAS VST support.
Any help/advice gratefully recieved.

Re: Audio Plugin + other issues
The first time, that can take forever. I recommend shutting down your Mac—not just reboot. After restarting, try again. As long as it doesn't actually crash, see if it eventually loads. If not, contact MOTU support tomorrow.
If you have the Dropbox App installed, I have a couple things to try but see what happens above first.

Re: Audio Plugin + other issues
Many thanks for your response Mike.
Start-up continues to take between 6-7 minutes, hanging at the point of 'Loading plug-in: MAS VST Support' This isn't happening with other DAWs I have (Logic X/Studio one 5) so it's clearly something that DP doesn't like. I imagine it's the same issue that's causing the similarly long load time of Preferences > Audio Plugins.
Once I'm actually in, I really like the environment - the scaling feature is what drew me in and it's everything I'd hoped for.
I'll certainly contact MOTU support but do appreciate your help, thank you.

Re: Audio Plugin + other issues
Just to follow up, MOTU were very responsive to my request for help. They suggested disabling the MAS VST plugin support & it worked. Everything running smoothly now.

Re: Audio Plugin + other issues
Yes, if you're not using it, that makes sense.
This might make everything start faster including your Mac. This is one of those things that, if you notice a difference, it needed to be run. If not, it didn't. Since it resets your Mac and every installed app to default, it can't do harm. My Mac needs this after most Office updates and sometimes after plugin installs to get DP and Logic back up to speed.
Reset Launch Services
1. Open Terminal and run these commands:
2. /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -seed -lint -r -f -v -dump -domain local -domain system -domain user -domain network <Enter or Return key>
3. killall Dock <Enter or Return key>
4. sudo mdutil -E / <Enter or Return key> (enter Admin password when prompted, then <Enter or Return key>)
5. Shut down and restart your Mac
