DP11 is here!
DP11 and it’s new features is up on motu.com
99% of the things I wished for in DP are here:
better control surface support, MPE, articulation mapping, Chunk folders, independent font resizing plus a fix for Windows users, Big Sur and Apple Silicon support, etc etc
This is a no brainer upgrade for me. The devil is in the details of course, but this is IMO a DP7 level improvement!

Re: DP11 is here!
This looks like a great and worthy upgrade.
I noticed slur lines are still absent from the articulations options, but this is still a welcome addition. I hope the tie-lines display properly now (they often appear as single pixel lines, or are so short/small as to be invisible).
Great to see MPE and per-note controls (poly AT) done in an elegant way.
Perhaps with the Control Surface additions, the iOS Avid Control app might become a workable remote solution (?)

Re: DP11 is here!
I’m thrilled to death about MPE support – at last. I’ve been begging for seven years. (name checks out)
Re: DP11 is here!
That's cool to see a few people happy about the new features. For me, DP11 will mainly offer the ability to upgrade my OS.
Beyond that... I guess the Nanosampler upgrades look interesting? The "intelligent audio interface selection" might save me a minute on setup. And it will also be nice to scale list fonts.
But I don't know, seems more like a dot release to me.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll upgrade.

Nice!
Re: DP11 is here!
Hi everyone
it’s been a while…………..
I’ve been somewhat frustrated with DP for quite some time. The small fonts, articulations etc……seeing the progress DP made I finally upgraded to DP10 last week, lol (I guess you can say I’m not an early adopter)
Thankfully MOTU automatically gave me the DP11 upgrade ,so I am warning all of you , I will be back regularly asking countless annoyingly obvious questions about DP…………………?
I’m going to try to get comfortable with DP10 waiting for 11 to get a couple of updates but DP11 looks really interesting and a huge step forward.
MOTU ROCKS!

Re: DP11 is here!
Versions 9 and 10 did not so no chance of that happening in 11, either. Printed Quick Start Guides only in those boxes; no printed manuals since DP 8.
With 11, there's a download only option—no box. That's a first for DP.
Once you get used to searchable .pdf files, printed manuals become a waste of paper and postage. Find a key word and glance at all 150 or so pages that contain it till you light on the one that's relevant.

Re: DP11 is here!
Exciting news!
It’s only been out a few hours, but first question: Does installing DP11 affect DP10?
Major DP upgrades like this have often affected the previous version’s installation (by overwriting the earlier version’s prefs etc. making reverting difficult or impossible). DP10 is super stable for me. Ideally both would be able to exist together happily, but that might be optimistic.

Re: DP11 is here!
DP 11 didn't replace DP 10 for me.
In my Applications folder, DP 11 is listed as "Digital Performer.app" and DP 10 is "Digital Performer 10.app". (I thought in the past we had to manually re-name the old version, but in this case MOTU did it.)
Did a quick test just now and launched DP 10. It opened without issue. It did NOT ask for the Key Code (which I think happened sometimes in the past when opening older versions).

Veru cool! Are all export options still available back in DP10, can you please tell me?BobK wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 3:06 pm DP 11 didn't replace DP 10 for me.

Installing 10 killed all but the generic export options in DP9, making switching between the two a problem. There was a workaround that involved keeping two set of prefs - one set for each version - not really ideal, but doable.

Re: DP11 is here!
Opening and saving a file in 11 makes it incompatible with 10 unless you use the Save as… menu to save it as a DP 10 file.
I am a bit disappointed that MusicXML Import is still not supported but there's a workaround involving Logic.
If, by Export, you mean BTD, the answer is Yes.Veru cool! Are all export options still available back in DP10, can you please tell me?

Re: DP11 is here!
Considering I’m out of town on an old macbook pro for the next three+ weeks I’m definitely going to be an early adopter! If it can run on a 2012 mbp with no issues it should be able to run on the 12 core Mac Pro.

Re: DP11 is here!
BTD or Export Selected Soundbite (via File > Export). If BTD has all it's format options when you go back to DP10 after installing DP11 Export should too I'm guessing.mikehalloran wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 5:00 pmIf, by Export, you mean BTD, the answer is Yes.Very cool!
