In Commands you have scroll left/right 'a little' as Navigation commands, but they are unassigned. See if that's what you want by assigning key combos to those. If you're at a DP version that supports shift-spacebar, do that and type in 'scroll' to see all the scroll options and assignments.

IIRC, "scroll a little" was too little for me. I often use control-L/R arrow to move by "screenfuls". I'm sure there must be some middle ground in the Commands window.
