Floating MIDI editor auto-follow selected track how?

Post by dewaard »

Hi guys!

I'm using a double monitor setup and doing a lot of MIDI editing. Therefor I would like to have my sequence open on the left monitor and a dedicated MIDI-editor window at all times on the right monitor. I managed to open a consolidated MIDI-editor window, so visually I have what i'm looking for. Except I would really like the MIDI editor to automatically follow my selection of the Tracks/Sequence window, so that whenever I select something in the Tracks/Sequencer window I can see and edit those notes in the MIDI editor? Currently I have to press the tiny "pencil" icon in the track selector panel each time, to manually switch to the desired track. I find it very time consuming.

I have been searching for two days, I just can't get it to work the way i want. I'm very used to this way of working from other DAW's. Can it be done? Or is there a better workflow?

Using DP 10.13.86175

Thanks in advance,
Kind regards,

Bastiaan

I have the Sequence Editor open in the Consolidated Window on my main monitor and the MIDI Editor floated on another monitor. In Preferences set MIDI editing pref to open one MIDI editor per sequence. Make your selection in the SE and then shift-G. The ME should update to your selection.
