Clips - not editable in MIDI editor, Quickscribe etc.!?
Hello! Sorry if this is obvious, but I just recently started to work with Clips and I like the easy workflow to get some basic ideas layed down. But please just correct me if I'm wrong - the Clips would not open as "normal MIDI information" in MIDI editor or quickscribe. These MIDI editors are just empty. What I want to do is export score as xml, but since I recorded MIDI as clips there seems to be no score...
Is there a way to revert clips to "non-clips" to continue my work in quickscribe?
Thanks,
Andre

Alright, found it! There is the "unpack clips" command to get back to "normal" MIDI to get the information going between tracks and editors. Still I wish I could stay with the clips and access quickscribe.

Same here. I hope this will be addressed in an update, so Clips show up in all the editors, maybe with a border around them to show they're clips and not straight MIDI. Having Clips is helpful, but having to switch them back and forth isn't.

Yeah the fact that Clips are treated as separate from regular MIDI is a huge let down.
Logic and other DAWs that have always used object or "container" based MIDI don't suffer from this issue.
In other DAWs the edges of Clips, objects, items etc. whatever, are marked in the MIDI editor along the timeline. There is no such thing as MIDI outside of objects in other DAWs though. I still hope this is resolved in updates, because as it stands it's a mess.
It's best to assign a key command to unpack Clips so this isn't a complete hassle, and be aware that unpacked loops become real copies.

If you pack MIDI or audio into a clip and loop it, when you "unpack the region" (Region/Unpack Clips), the unpacked loops become real copies of the original MIDI or audio. It's handy, although I would prefer if it was possible to select a Clip and "turn off" the loops, as it stands you have to manually do this.

OK thanks. Wouldn't have occurred to me. I never use loops.Michael Canavan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 1:19 pmIf you pack MIDI or audio into a clip and loop it, when you "unpack the region" (Region/Unpack Clips), the unpacked loops become real copies of the original MIDI or audio.
