Question about Load Chunks and Bundles

Post by rawrooo »

When I load a chunk from another file, and UNCHECK “Bundles” from the selections of what to load, bundles are loaded anyway. Why is that? I'm on DP 10.13 but it's been that way for as long as I can remember.

A bump, anyone know how to get it to work as it is described in the Load screen? Thanks!

Can't help with this. If I have Bundles selected in the Load window the Bundles are brought into the current project. If I don't have Bundles selected, the Bundles are not brought in. Works just as it should.

I see this same behavior. Something to try as a workaround is to save the sequence as a clipping and then drag the clipping to the chunks window. The failure of clippings to match up bundles may work in your favor - I don't think clippings include them.

what the heck...??? this has been buggy in every version of DP i've used as long as i can remember, on many different computers, OS's etc. I'm jealous! :D

just to be sure we're on the same page, you mean from this screen here right?
(i know it doesn't look like this anymore. it's wicked old  it was the only image i could find with google)

That might be handy some time thanks for the tip. The problem with it though (if im understanding correctly) is the time consuming task of first having to load the original file just to create the clipping. Then reopening the file I'm actually working on to import the chunk clipping. It'd probably be easier to just accept the bogus bundles that come with "Load..." then delete the unwanted bundles.

But to be fair, the problem with THAT is that DP sometimes corrupts bundles under these kind of circumstances (one of DP's more charming qualities haha), or make duplicate bundles in weird places. I'm actually trying to dig myself out of one of those holes right now and it's hardly the first time it's happened. 115 track song and the bundles got screwed up. It put a duplicate of my main output bundle into the Instrument bundles (i dont even understand how that could exist you know? talking about where the softsynth bundles are managed). It took a while to even find it bc i wasnt looking in the instrument bundles much at all. I just noticed that my mix started sounding and acting weird and had to go hunting for what the issue was. I'm still not sure what happened and im just trying to move on as simply as possible. Total tangent there i suppose..been making me miserable these last few days though.

This window

I notice the panel you uploaded doesn't have a button for Bundles. If you're using this, perhaps the Data button is the problem? Doesn't appear in mine.

Your image didnt load there, at least for me, so I dont know.
But yeah im using DP 10.13. Google didnt seem to have a contemporary version of the "Load..." window to use in my reply. Sorry if i made it confusing! It's the "Load..." thing under the File menu.

James mentioned there is a problem seeing images here when you use Chrome. Try looking at the post with Safari if you can -- that will probably work. Any yes, I was using the Load command and posted the Load window.

Just to make things even more confusing, I can't see the image you just uploaded, but I can copy the URL and look at it in another window. And you can right click on the marker for these images and "view in new window". It's the same as the one I uploaded.
