DP reshape the tempo curve?
Hi.
(New user, I am having problems applying the reshape tool to the tempo automation. I can't get the scale to work.)
Fixed, was using wrong tool.
Also, how do I change the default Tempo range from 20 to 400 BPM. I need to go lower and higher
I can't find any information about maximum and minimum tempo ranges in the manual.
Many thanks

Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
Try the Scale Tempo and Change Tempo commands.
I don’t think you can change the range of 20-400 BPM, but you can change the note values to compensate for this, like doubling or halving the region’s note durations... piece of cake.

Thanks for the workaround. I know these are extreme settings, but I use them!
Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
I need to work a finer resolutions than regions, so I use the event list to switch between note values for tempo automation points in the conductor track via the MIDI editor. Is it possible to enter multiple events in the event list? It seems I can only enter one value at a time.
Is there a way to change the note values to include tuplets (5,7,3 etc)? That would be great for Metric Modulations.

Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
If I understand your need correctly, there certainly is a MUCH faster way to change note values/durations in one fell swoop. I’m not in front of DP, but there’s a command to do this (change Duration or Scale Durations).loen wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 8:02 am I need to work a finer resolutions than regions, so I use the event list to switch between note values for tempo automation points in the conductor track via the MIDI editor. I’m on my phone, but let me see if I can find a thread that deals with this technique .

Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
I think you'll have to work those out mathematically. The tempos can be entered with hundredths XXX.XX as the finest resolution.
As for basing them off of tuplets, that's not available as a convenience, so you'll have to do it by calculating the tempo. Otherwise, DP's capabilities with tuplets and tempo manipulations are pretty advanced & flexible.
You should check the manual for the various tempo functions and region/time scale functions.

This thread deals with usable techniques to do what you want.
The main topic is a little different, but it deals with this stuff from a different angle and I’m pretty sure you might find it useful (especially the last posts on page 2, where THE solution was found.

Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
thx for the tips! I'm enjoying the manual, but I am rushing to find the features I need.

Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
That's nice to hear. I've always thought MOTU's manuals are quite good (some of the best docs in the industry, I think.). So when someone uses "enjoying" near "manual" in a sentence, I suspect a kindred spirit.

Re: DP reshape the tempo curve?
As far as I know, that is the range available and you can't change it, but you can change the tempo ruler on the left of the conductor track for a finer resolution. See " Zooming the Tempo Ruler" page 434 in the pdf user manual.
