.amr -> wav not importing

Hello!

Might anyone know why a .amr file, which I converted to a .wav, won't import into DP from an external drive or my system drive?

Every other wav/audio file on my computer (system drive or external drive) imports fine.

Don't know conversion doesn't work, but something to try is convert to MP3 and then drop the MP3 into your project. It will convert the MP3 to wave according to your prefs.

I had the same thought, but, for some reason, I can't convert the file to mp3.

VLC imports the .amr fine, it'll spit out the wav okay, but when I try to convert to mp3, it just gives me a weird TextEdit file!

There are a few amr converters online. Maybe try one of those.

Could be a corrupt header — DP can be very picky. If an .amr converter won’t work, use something to convert .wav to .wav. This strips and rewrites he headers. The raw audio is unaffected.

There’s one studio that gives me corrupted .wav and another that gives me equally bad AIFF-C files all the time. I batch convert the lot and they import into DP without problem. Been doing it for years.
