Permissions Issue Help?

Post by labman »

Hey there. Yesterday, we discovered that we had two SSD's in the same external chassis, get really slow. When i looked at the permissions in the get info window, each of them for the 'group' permissions area said 'fetching...' What in the world is that and what might cause it??? Since they were sample library drives only, i was able to remedy it by selecting 'ignore permissions on this volume'. Then they seemed fine.

NOTE: we were some of those hit last week with Apple's major slowdown debacle, but dunno if it is related.

Need some words of wisdom!

They are fine. You did the correct thing.

You don’t say how they are attached. Did you reboot?

No idea what you are talking about but, with remote SSDs, it won’t an issue.

Thank you so much for the input Mike!!!

Reboots did nuttin'. They are attached via 6G eSATA outta the back of OWC accelsior accelerator, into an OWC JBOD dual 6G eSata chassis.

The apple debacle was this....https://9to5mac.com/2020/11/12/apple-wi ... -imessage/
