A new problem with step record

Post by Rick Averill »

A new problem has popped up in the step record mode. I select the track I wish to record on and enable record for that track. Then I open the step record box and click the "Lock to Transport" box. I select the note value I want and then play a note on my MIDI keyboard, but nothing happens. It doesn't advance the transport; rather, it stays on the beat where it was before I hit the note. And no note appears in the MIDI edit window. I know DP is recognizing my MIDI keyboard, because the name of the note I played flashes in the step record box. The measure, beat, step, and backstep buttons all function and move the transport as they should. After I close the step record box, the undo history shows that I have recorded on the track. But nothing has been recorded, on that track or any other.

I quit DP and restarted my computer, but it still happens. It's not a problem with the file I'm working on, because it has started happening in other files which I last worked on before the problem first occurred.

So I am going to try to delete my prefs and see if that corrects this problem. In a simpler time, I knew how to do this. Can anyone tell me exactly how to go about it? Specifically, do I delete the plist file as well?
