Can't assign external controller for Transport commands

Post by Pagey782 »

Hallo to everyone.!!
I have a Oxygen 25 Keyboard with tranport buttons that sends MIDI CCs.
SO I go to the command window and I add that CCs for the play and the stop commands with the “learn” process. I do the same for the “go to next/previous measure” commands.
But then it doesn’t work at all.
I also checked the “source” field in order to tell to listen just to the oxygen keyboard, but nothing happens.

Is the MIDI "Master Master" checked?

Yes,
I checked it, all the "master MIDI" at the top of the command windows are checked.
Apart from that, the MIDI message is perfectly sent and received (I am checking it on the MIDI monitor) but nothing happens.

Check your MIDI input filter in the Setup Menu.

Play and stop are buggers from MIDI CC's, because buttons usually send 128 on press and 0 on release. The zero messes things up.

Michael Canavan wrote that he had found some solutions using MIDIPipe on his Mac (Windows users might use Bome MIDI Translator Classic instead), so you might PM him for some help. See:

I had this problem with a Arturia Keylab 61 keyboard. Using MIDIMonitor, I discovered that the Keylab issued one MIDI command when you pressed a button, and another when you released it. The second command, whatever it was, cancelled the first one. Pretty stupid when the key has a "play" icon printed right on it. There's probably some way to get DP to learn the second command rather than the first, or a way to program the keyboard so it send out the same command twice. I don't recall -- the Keylab was a disaster all round, and I got rid of it.

It seems that I solved it: it was a matter of the "Master transport" and "Master Master" not be checked.
It's funny cause I looked at it many times and it seemed to me that they were all checked but DP's graphic got me confused and they were all "unchecked".
Thanks to everybody!
