MIDI Life Crisis wrote:And........ it's back. All MOTU plugs in DP 10.0 are gone! I did upgrade my iPhone iOS last week to 13.5.1 but don't think I plugged my phone into the computer except a charging port that is not connected to USB. I tried the previously mentioned fix of moving files to the desktop but that didn't fix it.

I'm starting to get a little tired of all the workarounds and bug issues in DP 10. I'll call MOTU in the morning, but this is truly bogus.
I though this problem was general to all Mac apps using AU plugins.

Not seeing that here. I plug my iPhone 11 into my iMac regularly so that it syncs and moves my church mixes over to the iPhone and iPad. Did it just this morning.

Yeah, I don't think it's the phone either. And now DP.11 doesn't play movies. Much as I love DP, I may be forced to jump ship. If i can't play movies, I'm sunk.

So DP 10.0 - no plugs.

DP10.11 - no movies.

MOTU - No MLC.

It's actually getting close to that.

bdr wrote:I posted earlier today that DP could not see my AU plugins anymore. I wrote to tech support and they got back to me very quickly. If you use Mac OS 10.11 or 10.12 and plug an iPhone/iPad that has already been upgraded to ios13 into your Mac, you will get a message from Apple saying you need to install an upgrade to be able to keep using 10.11/12 with you iOS device. Which is what I did...not an OS upgrade, just a separate piece of software that self installs. Anyhow, apparently Apple managed to miss the fact that this update destroys AU and AAX plugins from being ‘seen’!! Appalling oversight from Apple.

Posting the TechLink below...
Sorry to hear you're having this issue. If I could take a shot in the dark....did you just update your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, etc) to iOS 13?

If so, you ran a "required OS update" for your iOS device to communicate with your computer for iOS 13. Believe it or not, this kills several AU and AAX plugins. MOTU has confirmed that this is specific to OS 10.11 and 10.12. It's happening in many major DAWs and we believe it to be a huge oversight on Apple's end.

There are two ways to bring this back:

1) Restore from Time Machine to a point prior to your iOS update

or

2) Upgrade your OS to 10.13 or above.

MOTU doesn't recommend updating the OS if you're not ready to, so a Time Machine backup would be your best bet. Again, this is a non-MOTU/DP specific issue. This is effecting several AU and AAX plugin manufacturers.
