Crackle at maximum buffer
I have my buffers set to 2048, and am still getting crackles on single instruments. I realize that this issue might have multiple causes. How can I isolate the cause, so I can solve the problem?

Re: Crackle at maximum buffer
Need waaaaay more info.
What machine, OS, DP version, offending instrument(s), amount of RAM, info on the drives (internal, external, SSD, spinners, etc) and capacity v. available space, additional hardware, etc. All factors in troubleshooting.

Doing 16–40 tracks of senior choir voices, I ran into that. The meters looked fine and changing the playback buffer had no effect. A clue.
Now I knew what it wasn't.
I opened each track and put the MW Limiter as the first plug, setting the ceiling at -6dB and rocking the threshold back so that the slope was otherwise the same.
Problem solved.
I created new templates over the weekend.
