Can someone do me a favor please and export

Hey guys I had posted that I tried exporting from the soundbites window as an MP4 or AAC. It did not work. I tried a FLAC and it worked. I am 96/24 and all of the export options are there. Can someone try MP4 and AAC to see if it works for you, and please let me know, thanks !

No problem.

All AAC and mp4 bounces worked except MPEG-4 HE AAC and MPEG-4 HE AAC V2

DP 10.11, iMac Pro over Mojave 10.14.6

All the others did work for me.

MPEG-4 HE is a subset of AAC. I tried offline bounce only so haven't explored it otherwise.

Doesn't work on my laptop. Trying from the Soundbites window, I get the dialogs, no error messages, but no exported file. Doing it by right clicking the soundbite in the SE, or using the File menu, gives me a MAS error message. Exporting wav etc works, just not MP4 or MP4a.

I'll try it again later on the Mini.

I tried online bouncing. Again, the only two bounces that failed were HE and HE V2.

So I opened up DSP Quattro. HE and HE V2 are not offered as conversion options. All the AAC/mp4/MPEG-4 conversions worked.

TwistedWave doesn't list HE V2 but it does list MPEG-4 High Efficiency AAC in a few of the menus. That failed with an error every time, no matter how I selected it. Again, all the other AAC/mp4/MPEG-4 conversions worked.

Perhaps there's a CODEC that you need to find and install. It doesn't appear to be part of L.A.M.E. or FFmpeg but I could be wrong. I suspect that Google is your friend here.

I'm guessing that this is not a DP issue. Hopefully, MOTU Support can point you in the right direction. Let us know what you find.

I have LAME installed and it shows up as an option in DSP-Q and works there and in DP to export an MP3. MP4 and MP4a give the error message here. DSP-Q will export as MP4a, and as MP4. Suggests to me that on my system, it is a problem with DP.

Including the HE variations? Only thing that didn't work for me.

It's a problem somewhere, no doubt. With TW and other apps I have installed, hard to tell.

Could the problem be that you're bouncing 96k?

Without knowing who that question is for, I'm only using 44.1 and 48. On HE varieties, sorry, dunno. I don't see any options that indicate this or anything similar. Where do you see this?

Thanks. I see these now. They appear in the menus, and are not greyed out, but when I choose either, the dialog switches immediately back to plain AAC -- they're there but I can't select them.

Ok, I can select them but when I click to begin, nothing happens. I tried waiting awhile but zippo.

Again, HE and HE V2 only — everything else behaves. This is why I suspect a missing CODEC. Besides DSP-Q and TW, I have a couple of other file converters that I've bought but never use — don't recall the names but perhaps something installed with those?

Funny you should suggest talking to MOTU Mike. I was thinking of that. I also thought about a Codec. I have DSP Quatro but never tried bouncing there. In my initial post it did work with Wave Lab 10. I,m going to try Peak 7.Keep you posted. Thanks for trying for me Mike !
