Hi
VSL Synchron Player has issues in 10.11- VST2/3 and AU all causing CPU spikes after some time instantiated. Rolled back to 10.1 and all problems disappeared.
EDIT: I am incorrect, the problem was with V-Racks- having an aux track with a reverb plugin on it (any) will cause my CPU to bottom out.

Re: DP10.11 VI and Plug-In Issues
Having now done some lifting, even of the light variety, with it, I can definitely say it's still not good. This simply won't do for me, so I've asked them where I can get an installer (which of course I should have kept) to downgrade to 10.0 where I had no such issues.csansom wrote:... MOTU support ... told me to disable all AU IK plugs and enable the VST2 equivalents. So far this seems to work, but I haven’t done any heavy lifting with it yet ... It's still fairly heavy on the Effect Performance and Real time displays, but nothing's gone red yet, at least!

OK, humble pie time! The problem is not with DP, and possibly not with SampleTank, but with me - or at least it's a limitation in ST4 that I wasn't aware of.
I duly compressed and deleted DP10.11 and reinstalled 10.01 and opened my project... exactly the same problem, whether I used the AU or VST version of ST4. This was completely baffling, as it's such a tiny, simple project - a short solo acoustic guitar piece. So I loaded up my previous project, which I'd done all in 10.01 with no such problems, and was a much bigger affair. It was fine! So, OK, I reverted to 10.11 and tried it: still fine!
More head scratching. Then I realised that I'd been separating out the guitar's strings onto different tracks (I'd done a similar piece using three different guitars for different strings: http://www.chrissansom.net/works/face), and loaded eight instances of the same instrument into ST4. This is what caused the problems! As soon as I simplified it by doubling and tripling up some of the tracks and removing instances from ST4, the problem went away. It seems to be happy enough with two or three instances of the same sound, but not eight! Whether this can really be regarded as a problem in ST4 I'm not sure - I can understand it's not an entirely orthodox way of using it - but I'll get in touch with them and see what they say.

Re: DP10.11 VI and Plug-In Issues
Reminds me of the PSP Xenon plug in DP 9 (?). The VST has plug crashed DP on. BTD. The AU worked fine. All were eventually updated and work now but it was a beast figuring that out. MOTU tech found the conflict.
