Can't drag notes between tracks in 10.11!

It does. It takes a second to highlight the track name section. Also works with option dragging.

Well thanks for the suggestion, Phil O, but after reading your description of the process I'm not even going to try that! Much simpler to select, then do the drag in the Tracks overview, as HCMarkus said (and which, as I said, I knew all along but had simply forgotten).

Well, I know some folks just prefer to stay in the SE, myself included. Glad you found a reasonable work-around. Let's hope 10.12 comes soon.

I can't really get Phil O's method to work consistently (but thanks Phil!). I succeeded a couple times, but it still only duplicated the data - it still leaves a copy of the MIDI notes behind rather than just moving it to the target track.

You might have to pause a moment in the left window and wait for it to highlight.
