Zooming (vertically) with the scroll wheel
User Guide, page 331.
"If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can use it to zoom. Simply position the cursor over the zoomable portion of an editor and hold down the Option/Alt key while spinning the scroll wheel. To zoom vertically, hold Option+Control or Alt+Win."
I can't zoom vertically, Option+Control+Scrolling does horizontally zoom only.
Anyone?

Go look at your Commands window and search "zoom". You may find that the assigned keys may conflict with something elsewhere in your system. You can try some other key-combo.
On my system, I set them to use the COMMAND plus ARROW keys to do all vertical and horizontal zooming. I then assigned those horizontal keystrokes to my mouse wheel plus a mod-key on my mouse. Works well. Makes zooming pretty painless.
I should work out my vertical zoom modifier so I can do that with my wheel as well.

It's impossible to set Scrolling in the Commands window. How did you do that?

Ah, right. I left something out.
I have a separate piece of software that lets me assign special commands to my mouse. Some mouse makers have drivers that let you set these things up. I use Steer Mouse.
In the mouse configuration software, you can have it so that your wheel plus a modifier can send out keystrokes. So I assigned COMMAND-LEFT-ARROW, and COMMAND-RIGHT-ARROW to zoom horizontally in DP. Then in Steer Mouse, I set up my mouse so that when I press the side button and scroll forward it will generate a series of COMMAND-RIGHT, and scroll back= COMMAND-LEFT. Now my mouse scroll is zooming.
You might be able to set up the mouse so that a keyboard modifier plus the scroll will generate those commands.

So far, (and it must be an unaddressed bug because of the option/control thing not working), I can only option/zoom in on MIDI data in the MIDI editor, the zoom wheel alone works to zoom both single audio and MIDI tracks in the Sequence editor though if you have the arrow over the magnifying glass, that's new to me. Putting Option over the piano roll in the MIDI editor also zooms vertically.
What's missing is the vertical zooming of all tracks via the Control/Option Zoom command listed in the manual.

Same here. I messed with this a while back and gave up - went back to keyboard shortcuts.Drumwizard wrote:I can't zoom vertically, Option+Control+Scrolling does horizontally zoom only.
Anyone?

I searched this page for "Option-Control" and "Control-Option" and there were no results.

Might be worth looking in System Preferences/Keyboard/Shortcuts/Accessability
Or other places to see if there is a conflict.
